One interesting story is the way that the enlightenment stole or borrowed many of the Christian influences you describe and reduced them into something distorted and less.

Thanks Ron. I first became aware of Enlightenment revisionism with issues related to science. Studying economic histories, you quickly begin to see the same pattern. Unfortunately, like McLaren, too many postmodern critics see only the Modernism involved and not the underlying Christian influence.
