I noticed when I read Isaiah 7:8-9 recently that there is a structural parallel with 1 Corinthians 11:3. Perhaps this suggests some kind of parallel meaning.

Interesting, Peter. The sequence here is from nation to capital to leader.

The question in 1 Cor. 11:3 is the sequence of the three diads, which hierarchicalists maintain is a chain of command of God > Christ > man > woman. But the sequence is presented all wrong. I'll be writing about that passage on Monday (I think.)
